Charismatic and iconic National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku was at his Alma Mater, the University of Ghana yesterday, Saturday July 6 2019, where he joined other colleagues of the Commonwealth Hall, popularly know as Old Vandals, for the 2019 edition of the annual Jamboree.
Mr. Awuku joined several other renowned vandals including former appeals court Judge, Justice Kwaku Gyan, MD of Anglogold Ashanti, Eric Esubonteng, rector of GIMPA, Prof. Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, rector of GIJ, Prof. Kwamena Kwansa-Aidoo, Commissioner of Insurance, Justice Yaw Ofori aka ammunition who is also the president of the Greater Accra Old Vandals Association, Former Hall Master, Prof. Harry Akusah, current hall master Prof. Frank K. Nyame and many other dignitaries.
This year’s Jamboree celebration was used to officially launch the Commonwealth Hall annex project.
The old Vandals used the occasion to announce that although 1st July of very year which used to be the official day for celebrating the annual Jamboree is no longer a public holiday, the Jamboree celebrations will from now on be celebrated every 1st Saturday of the month of July starting this year, 2019.
They also used the occasion to reaffirm their commitment at keeping an eye on their Alma Mater and to come in with the necessary assistance to ensure it keeps blazing the trail in terms of academic excellence.
Mr. Awuku has shown a great deal of commitment to his Alma Maters and wastes no time in actively participating in their activities.
He was a loud and prominent figure that was very visible during the launch of the 90th anniversary celebrations of St. Augustine’s College, where he is a past student.
Just a couple of days ago, he visited and motivated the representatives of St. Augustine’s College at the 2019 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) and has since been a keen patron of the quiz, particularly on days Augusco is competing.

Sammy Awuku is an inspiration to the up and coming youth in politics, politics is a game of civility and patriotism the more you love your God and country the more you love the people and respect them and the more the people return the same to you ! if you become like Sammy Gyamfi and Akamba the people will treat you like Sammy Gyamfi and Akamba !
