Former Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has appealed to the Ghana Education Service to re-assess the country’s education system.
According to him, it is important to go back and look at the fundamentals of the educational system to eradicate leakages of examination papers ahead of exams.
Speaking on UTV’s “Adekye Nsroma”, Fred Agbenyo stated that “the root cause of the problem must be tackled. Competitions created among schools fuel some of these examination leakages...The moment the system places one school ahead of the other, it automatically creates competition because every school wants to be the first...I think the time has come for us to relook into our educational reforms”.
“Is there a possibility for a student who is interested in science to continue after failing Mathematics rather than truncating the person's academic life?” he questioned.
