The Minister of Defence, Lieutenant-General Henry Smith, on Monday assured Ghanaians of the readiness of personnel at the 37 Military Hospital to handle all emergencies that might arise as a result of the current strike by doctors.
He gave the assurance during a tour of the hospital in Accra to ascertain the level of work as a result of the strike by doctors.
Lt-Gen Smith indicated that being one of the medical emergency facilities in the country, the 37 Military Hospital was and had always been alert to handle all forms of disasters and emergencies and called on the public to visit designated emergency facilities across the country to access medical services.
The Defence Minister said the Ministry had further instructed all receptions within its garrisons across the country to be opened to the public for optimum health care services during the period.
He appealed to the public, individuals and organisations for more blood donations to help re-stock the National Blood Bank to handle emergency situations.
