Maternal mortality rate in the Aowin Suaman District will very soon be reduced as renovation and expansion of the maternity block for the Enchi Government Hospital nears completion.
The move was specially designed by the assembly to up-grade the hospitals dilapidated maternity block into a modern block to befit the status of the District.
The facility when duly completed is expected to improve health conditions in the area.
In a related development, the assembly is putting up a 4-unit staff accommodation at Enchi, the capital of the Aowin Suaman District.
The project is to secure a permanent place of abode for health personnel in the area.
In education, a 6-unit classroom block has been constructed for the people of Antokrom and its environs.
