Ghana will today join the rest of the world to mark World Malaria Day. Today�s commemoration is under the theme �Invest in the future, Defeat Malaria�.
The day will be used to showcase the achievements chalked in malaria prevention and intervention under the Ghana Health Service - led National Malaria Control Programme.
A new campaign which is expected to be launched today focuses on the regular use of insecticide-treated nets and their continuous distribution in schools.
According to the World Health Organisation, malaria still kills an estimated six hundred and sixty thousand people worldwide, mainly children under five years in sub-Saharan Africa.
