The management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has expressed alarm over reports that some unscrupulous persons were extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the pretext of getting them employed at the hospital.
A terse statement signed by the Chief Executive, Dr. Joseph Akpaloo, said the referral facility was not employing any new staff.
The management had not authorized anybody to hire people on its behalf, it said, and asked all to remain alert to avoid being swindled.
Those, who had already fallen victim to the recruitment scam to be bold to report those they had paid money to the hospital authorities.
It has never been the practice to take money from people before employing them, the statement added.
