Some lucky children will benefit from a philanthropic act at the St. Johns Hospital where they will be screened on various heart ailments.
St. Johns Hospital in collaboration with the Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque will be having the healing little hearts program from March 12th – 16th March 2018.
Children between the ages of six [6] months to fifteen [15] years will be screened by heart surgeons from France with support from the Cardio Thoracic centre, Korle Bu - after which critically affected kids will be airlifted to Paris for an absolutely free surgery.
All these would be made possible by NPP Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com the benevolent MP noted that, his aim to invite the world class surgeons to Ghana was to help fight heart related problems among kids.
He emphasized that “Heart disease is a silent killer. In fact many people never realize they’re at risk until it’s too late.”
Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie however urged parents to take advantage of the ‘free screening’ program to prevent and protect their kids from any heart disease.
