Felix Akakpo, who was driving a VW Taxi Cab from Hohoe towards Accra, was on Monday arrested at the Golokwati Police barrier for carrying leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Mr Daniel Ablorde, Hohoe District Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that Akakpo, driving the cab with registration number GT 1247 Z, pulled up at the barrier around 1530 hours. He said a search revealed two packets of dried leaves stashed under the spare tyre. Mr Ablorde said Akakpo was in police custody helping in investigations while the vehicle had been impounded.
