The Information Services Department (ISD) of the Ministry of Information in the Volta Region has embarked upon a seven-day education of the public on government policies and programmes.
The campaign involves showing of films and organising public forums mainly on Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme and the National Youth Employment Programme in Keta, Jasikan, Kpando, Ketu North, South Dayi, Adaklu-Anyigbe districts and the Ho Municipality.
Mr Bennet Dzogbelu, Regional Director of the ISD, who disclosed this to GNA in an interview at Ho, said the programme was aimed at sensitizing the people on the need to ensure peace for national development and appealed to the assemblies to support the initiative.
He asked factions in conflict areas in the region to give peace a chance to ensure rapid socio-economic development.
Mr Dzogbelu commended the chiefs and people of Alavanyo and Nkonya for resolving their differences and stressed that people of other communities engaged in conflicts should emulate the two towns.
