Rawlings In Equatorial Guinea For African Union Summit

Ghana’s former President, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings, arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday to take part in the 17th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union taking place on June 30 and July 1.

The theme of the Summit is “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development”.

Marcelino Owono Edu, Equatorial Guinea Minister for Mines, Industry and Energy met President Rawlings on arrival.

The Conference will also consider among others a report by the AU Peace and Security Council on its activities and the state of peace and security in Africa.

Africa’s preparation for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development will also be considered.
