The Minister of Tourism Akua Sena Dansua has entreated the youth to take full advantage of opportunities offered them for their education, training and welfare to prepare adequately to take their rightful place in our society.
Miss Sena Dansua observed, �the youth are the hope for tomorrow and they need to know and learn lessons of the past to empower them to take leadership positions�.
Speaking at a wreath laying ceremony at the W.E.B Dubios Centre in Accra, Miss Dansua stressed government�s commitment to make tourism a major income earner.
�Even though emancipation day has been celebrated for 178 years, the world has continued to suffer modern slavery and other forms of subjugation, exemplified in wars and extreme cultural practices in various parts of the continent which need critical attention�, she said.
Ms. Sena Dansoa stressed her Ministry�s commitment to support government policies and programs within its Better Ghana Agenda that would grant every Ghanaian freedom and justice and improvement in their socio- economic lives.
The Chairman of the Council of State Professor Kofi Awonoor on his part noted, the clear essence of Emancipation day celebration is to serve, create and develop a unique sense of unity, cooperation and understanding among Africans and the world over.
