Residents of Ketekrachi and other communities in the area have appealed to the government to direct the Volta Lake Transport Company to restore pontoon services to enable them to go about their activities.
A resident, Koku Gbemor, told Radio Ghana that the absence of the pontoon services is seriously affecting the transport of goods and services and the livelihood of residents.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Transport, Aljahi Collins Duada, has assured the people of Ketekrachi and its surrounding communities that pontoon service will resume before the end of this month.
He said President John Mahama will hand over the Pontoon at a durbar of Chiefs and people in Ketekrachi.
