Reverend Nathan Mensah Nunoo, Head Pastor of the Faith Community Fellowship and Ministry at La, has asked Ghanaians to resolve to maintain peace as they enter the year 2013, to ensure development and progress.

He noted that it was by the grace of God that Ghana survived 2012, especially after the election as there was tension in the country.

Rev. Nunoo in a New Year message to Ghanaians through the GNA in Tema, tasked Ghanaian to forgive each other of the wrongs committed, and unite to protect the peace and tranquility they enjoy.

He said that 2013 would be a year of God’s abundant grace upon the country, and asked the people to take advantage of the loveliness and achieve success.

Meanwhile the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Redemption Congregation, at Tema Community Nine, held an anointing service to usher in the New Year.

Rev. Joseph Appiah Odei, Resident Minister of the congregation, called on members to religiously worship God in the New Year.

He urged members to promote love, peace and unity for development, and work hard to win more souls for Christ.

The worshipers, most of whom were clad in white, received prophetic messages from other pastors.

The congregation said special prayers for the church, nation, people seeking salvation, including pregnant women, and for the souls of those who passed away last year.

At exactly 2400 hours on Monday 31 December, members of the church joined other Christians throughout the country to shout words of praises to God, jubilate, send messages of best wishes, amidst singing, dancing, waving of handkerchiefs, hugging of each other, to express their happiness for entering the New Year.
