Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, Minister of Defence, on Tuesday advised the military to consider journalists as their partners in the national development effort and not adversaries.
The Minister gave the the advice at his maiden visit to the 48 Field Engineers Regiment and the commissioning of the newly constructed Regimental Headquarters building in Accra.
Your relationship with journalists and civilians should be strengthened since it is part of the military's service to the nation, Mr Woyongo stated ostensibly in reaction to recent allegations of some military personnel manhandling media personnel during this year's Independence Day Celebration in March.
