Traders from the Kantamanto market hit the streets of Accra on Wednesday to register their displeasure over their inability to secure space at the Pedestrian Shopping Mall at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
The traders, who were in their hundreds, marched from the Nkrumah Circle to Kantamanto.
The Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA) boss, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije directed traders who used to sell at the destroyed Kantamanto market to occupy unused stalls at the Tuesday market and the Pedestrian Shopping Mall at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
The Kantamanto market was completely burnt on Sunday night.
Traders have vowed to resist governments attempt to rebuild the market saying the new shops might be too expensive and they could lose their places.
