Nana Amokona Nimpong, an opinion leader in Sunyani, has observed that the outcome of the Election petition before the Supreme Court would deepen the country’s democracy.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani that the decision by the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to seek redress at the court was in the right direction, but advised the media to avoid any reportage that could be prejudicial to the outcome of the case.
In a related development, Mr John Oppong, a retired Trades Unionist and Chairman of Brong-Ahafo Regional Branch of National Pensioners’ Association, expressed concern about the ‘snail pace’ of the hearing of the petition and financial cost to the nation.
