Activities marking the celebration of Nkrompo festival for the Chiefs and people of the Acherensua Traditional Area have been launched at Acherensua, in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Justice Samuel Adjei used the occasion to sensitize the youth on the consequences of illegal mining.
At the launch of this year�s festival, the Omanhene of Acherensua, Agyiwodin Professor Ampem assured the people that the traditional council will work to establish a tertiary institution for the area.
He advised them to remain calm after the Supreme Court verdict on the 2012 Presidential Election petition.
Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Adjei urged the chiefs and people to do their best to woo investors to the area for job creation and enhanced livelihood.
The festival was launched by the minister for Water Resources Works and Housing, Alhaji Collins Dauda.
Acherensua is one of the strong paramountcies in the Brong-Ahafo Region. The chiefs and people meet annually during their annual Nkrompo to review their ties and also mobilise resources to undertake self-help development projects.
