The New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to congratulate Mr. Kingsley Obeng Kyereh of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for winning the GJA-PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year at the Ghana Journalists Association’s annual Awards over the weekend.
We believe the award will spur Mr Kyereh on to consolidate Ghana’s Press Freedom.
We also wish to use this opportunity to extend a message of felicitations to all other Journalists in the county who won various awards.
It is our hope and prayer that these awards would motivate, encourage and propel them to higher heights in their profession.
We believe the award will serve as the basis for both winners and non-winners to champion the cause of Ghana’s democracy, while we urge the media to play their watchdog role, we hope that fairness and balance will be a hallmark.
With the current upsurge of corruption in the country, which has culminated in Ghana being ranked among the third most corrupt countries in the world with free press, we need the media now more than ever.
We say Ayekoo to our Journalists!
