President Mahama is today, expected to visit the old parliament house site to get first hand information about the fire which gutted the facility.
Parts of the old parliament House was engulfed by fire Thursday dawn; and according to Peacefmonline.com reporters who trooped to the site, the extent of damage is severe. The wild fire could only be tamed by trained fire officers who controlled it and as at filing this report today, hot smoke could still be seen emanating from the burnt property.
Until the tragic event unfolded yesterday, the edifice had housed the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and the Sole Commissioner whose mission is to ensure debts paid, are done in the right way.
The Major of Accra together with other state officials are awaiting for the arrival of President Mahama to brief him.
