A former Minister for Local Government, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has expressed disappointment at the manner in which the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) demolished building in the Tema West Constituency.
TDC courted criticism when residents of Adjei Kojo met the shock of their lives when their buildings were razed down.
They (TDC) have been condemned for not giving residents ample time and notice and for not allowing them to pack their (residents) items from their rooms before the exercise.
When Peace FM correspondents visited the scene Monday, residents were seen trying to salvage some of their items from the debris while others had mounted mosquito nets to avoid mosquito bites during the night.
Expressing more displeasure by the TDC's act, Mr Ofosu Ampofo said TDC should have engaged in a dialogue to get people to move instead of rendering them homeless.
He told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Kokrokoo that they should have deployed a human face element of just going ahead to demolish the buildings...I am very disappointed.
According to him, the cost of building is very high and so they should have negotiated with the parties involved and come to an agreement.
Meanwhile, NADMO has provided some relief items including tents to victims for them to have shelter.
