The Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has taken over investigations in the suspected murder of a family of seven in Volta region.
An entire seven-member family of Fulani herdsmen was found dead in their home about two weeks ago together with their household animals.
The police had earlier suspected the cause of death to be poisoning following the discovery of a liquid substance found at the scene of the incident.
However, in an interview with Citi News, the Volta Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter King, mentioned that the Homicide Unit of the Police service was sent over to conduct further investigations into the matter.
He explained that his outfit is waiting for a response from the CID so for now, as for arrests, we are still looking for a few people which I must be circumspect with.
ACP King gave the assurance that the matter will be resolved in due time.
