The Northern Regional Police command has arrested four people in connection with last Sunday’s shooting incident at Savelugu.

Public Relations Officer of the Northern regional police command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the arrest to Citi News said the arrested persons are in police custody. He also stated that the police retrieved an AK47 gun.

ASP Tetteh said the police is still investigating the suspects and will arraign them before court after the investigations.

"This is a pure assault case that was reported at the Savelugu police station;…as we speak the four arrested are under investigations," he said.

According to him, the arrest has brought some peace and calm in the village.

"With the arrest of the suspects we hope that the people in the village will not take the law into his own hands; anybody who dares to the law into his hands will be arrested and dealt with," he cautioned.

The incident which occurred after a misunderstanding resulted in the death of one Majid Musani.
