Most Ghanaians love to own exotic cars yet majority are those who use unapproved means to bring such cars into the country.
Recently, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) impounded more than 700 vehicles believed to have been smuggled into the country from neighbouring countries.
Out of the number, 500 were confiscated from March to May this year, while more than 200 were seized in an ongoing exercise dubbed anti car smuggling operation.
The latest confiscation, effected from June 26 to date, involve expensive vehicles including some of these cars, which were seized from their owners at the various customs points throughout Ghana for which duties were not paid by their owners or importers.
