Teacher: One day, our country will be corruption free. Johnny, which tense is that? Johnny: Sir, that would be future impossible tense, IMANI Boss guffaws.

Corruption is the enemy of development, and of good governance which must be gotten rid off. But in order to eradicate corruption, both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.

Ghana is dealing with an overabundance of corruption scandals that has rocked the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] government in the last few years.

Notable among them is the payment of Ghc51 million to businessman, Alfred Woyome, the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) project, Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) scandal, and recently the alleged corrupt acts which took place during Ghanas participation at the Brazil 2014 World Cup tournament.

The Commissioner of the Commission of Human Right and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Lauretta Lamptey, has also been in the news for wasting whooping sums of money on rent and renovation of her official bungalow.

Consequently, the Founding President and CEO of policy think tank, IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe believes the NDC-led government is so out of control. To him, the incumbent rgime is bloated and infested with fraud, deceit and corruption.

He noted that if a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds then its youth must fight against the evil practice.

He further revealed that, his corruption speedometer under the current administration is moving faster than expected even though the Mahama-led governance are making efforts to eradicate the canker.

My corruption meter under the current scheme of things reads US$1.5billion, he said on Facebook.

However, the policy think-tank boss, urged all to join the campaign of #‎OccupyCorruption to save the nation from excessive hardship.

Let us ‪#‎OccupyEducation‬ this Thursday at 9am @Alisa Hotel in order to ‪#‎OccupyCorruption‬ and set our republic back on the path of seriousness, truth and progress, he opined.
