Governments decision to institutionalize the National Sanitation Day on first Saturday of every month, has been described as a useless exercise by Hon. Emmanuel Agyarko.
The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency scolded our authorities for the less effort they have put in improving sanitation after collecting billions of cedis from the tax payer.
He called on the various assemblies and the ministry of local government to account for the moneys that have taken from the state and added that if they had done their work well, government wouldnt have turned around to call on Ghanaians to help in the sanitation campaign.
After taking money from us to do the sanitation job, they are now asking us to come out and work. It is unnecessary for government to set aside a day for sanitation. If the moral fiber of the nation hadn't broken down, we would have known we ought to sweep around our compounds and clear the filth in our homes. The fact that it has been declared shows that we failed somewhere, he said.
