The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) District Chief Executive, Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway has appealed to people who use FM and Radio Stations to make allegations against leaders to cease such practices forthwith.
He said the practice of channeling grievances through the media does not arguer well for the overall achievement and progress of the district and the country as a whole.
Mr. Botchway made the call at a durbar of chiefs and people of Breman Traditional Area at Breman Asikuma during the celebration of 2014 Odwira Festival.
The festival was on the theme “Uniting Bremanman for Accelerated Development”.
The annual celebrations it to remind the people of the importance of their history, reflect on the culture bequeathed to them by their ancestors, take stock of the previous year’s achievements and strategise for the years ahead in terms of development.
The DCE said the Assembly has put in place a public relations and complaints committee headed by Mr. Kobina Amoakor, presiding member of the Assembly to address such problems..
He said the task of the PR unit was also to receive and investigate administrative injustices, violation of fundamental human rights of any member of the public in the district.
He therefore advised his constituents to make good use of the committee by channeling all their grievances, fruitful ideas and suggestions, since it has been fully equipped to handle all cases that will be sent to it rather than using other ways to address issues which to him was tantamount to washing one’s dirty linen in public.
On infrastructure development Mr. Botchway mentioned the construction of two three-unit Classroom, office and store blocks for Amafua Basic School at Odoben and Asarekwa, completion of an administration block for Brakwa Senior High School, construction of a Teachers' Quarter at Breman Kwanan, a two-unit Kindergarten Block at Breman Anhwiam and a Market, Lorry Park and 12 seater water closet toilet at Kokoso as some of the projects executed.
He said the achievement by his administration in terms of development was by the tremendous support, counsel and encouragement he received from the chiefs and people of the area, and added that he will continue to count on their support in the years ahead.
