Member of Parliament for Okere Constituency Dan Kwaku Botwe has cautioned the youth in his constituency against the negative use of ICT.
He bemoaned the increasing rate of internet fraud known in local parlance as Sakawa especially among the youth and called on parents to take keen interest in what their children surf the internet for.
The Okere MP gave the advice at the ceremony to open an ICT centre he had built for the people of Adukrom.
He indicated that even though it is difficult to control the negative use of the internet, it is also incumbent on the youth who are engaged in Sakawa to desist from doing it in a public facility that will have some influence on the children in the community.
Dan Botwe also urged teachers to help in the fight against the menace and ensure that, students do not use school hours to do so.
