Newly Elected Brong - Ahafo Regional Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) Mr. Seth Gomnah has tagged the government of being incapable of solving the challenges that confront the country.
According to him, the power crisis the country was experiencing coupled with reports of corruption was a sign the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led government has failed the electorate.
In an acceptance speech at the PPP’s Brong -Ahafo Regional Conference in Sunyani over the weekend, Mr. Gomnah said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was not ready for political power in the next general elections since it was bent on internal bickering.
He has however called on the electorate to endorse the PPP at the polls in 2016 in order for it to find lasting solutions to the challenges that the country was faced with.
Winning five parliamentary seats for the party in the 2016 elections Mr. Gomnah said, was one of his targets as the PPP prepares to become the alternative party in Ghana’s political landscape.
At the regional congress to elect new executives to lead the party in the region, Mr. Gomnah, a banker was elected as Chairman of the PPP after contesting unopposed, with Mr. Daniel Adumata emerging as Vice Chairman after beating his other two contesters.
Mr. Emmanuel Oduro and Alima Nyameke were elected organiser and deputy organiser respectively at the conference with Clement Kadang emerging as treasurer.
In the Women’s Organiser category, Faustina Boahemaa won the vote with Bernice Quampa assuming the Deputy Women’s Organiser position.
