Adom News is reporting that officials of Police Hospital are charging victims of the flood- fire disaster that occurred on June 3, 2015.
Government paid a sum of GH¢501,500 to four hospitals in Accra as the initial cost of treating survivors of the devastating June 3 disaster, deputy Minister of Health Dr Victor A. Bampoe made it known to the public.
But, according to sources, the hospital has defied the directive and is charging victims for their drugs.
One of the victims, Bright Ampadu on Adom News said he was obliged to pay for the cost of his drugs to the tune of GHC53.00 at the Police Hospital.
The victim said he was given the prescription form on 4th June 2015 but he could not raise the money immediately so he had to beg for alms on the street to buy the drugs the next day.
He is appealing to government to step in because some hospitals are not complying with the directive.
