The Road Transport Operators (RTOs) has released new transport fares for commercial drivers.
This follows the announcement of a 15 per cent increment in transport fares effective Monday, June 22, 2015. The new fares cover inter-city (trotro), intra-city (long distance) and taxis.
A statement released by the RTOs Friday requested members to comply with the new directives and post the fare lists at the transport terminals so as to avoid confrontation with the general public.
It further requested commuters to co-operate with transport operators for the success of the new changes.
The RTOs on Thursday announced a 15 per cent increment in transport fares following a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Transport to review the various components in the operation of commercial transport services, including spare parts and fuel.
