To deal with Ghana�s embarrassingly poor sanitation situation, cleanup exercises are held simultaneously nationwide from 6:00 am to 9:00 am; every first Saturday of each month.
The action, instituted by government is to help address the country�s sanitation challenges.
On 5th September, 2015, workers from Zoomlion Company, a waste management company joined the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda to desilt choked gutters in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The communications Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr Robert Coleman was seen wheeling rubbish around as the minister descended into every gutter to ensure there is free flow of waste water.
Emma Akyea-Boakye, the company�s Operations Manager together with Patricia Ofori Atta, a senior Communications Officer were all there to support the exercise.
Alhaji Collins Dauda, commended the people of Brong-Ahafo for turning out in their numbers for the Region's version of the National Sanitation Day.
He made particular mention of persons with disabilities for turning out in their numbers for the exercise which was the tenth and last in the Regional series.
The Local Government Minister added that Brong-Ahafo was the only Region where the disabled were represented.
