Head of Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Power, Kweku Sersah-Johnson, has rubbished claims by the ‘The Chronicle Newspaper’ that the 225 Megawatts KAR-Power Barge is likely to delay despite government's assurance that the barge is only two [2] days from berthing at the Tema harbour.

The Chronicle reports that – as at Monday, 2nd November 2015, Ghanaian authorities were still seeking partnership for the provision of fuel, on which the power barge would run, upon arrival at the finish harbour’s man-made semi submerged maritime structure to prevent her from drifting to shallow ground.

The paper further said – although the fuel problem is solved, the power barge is yet to begin its journey to Ghana.

But Kweku Sersah-Johnson on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie' noted that there is no iota of truth in the publication – adding that the power barge will arrive in Ghana as expected to ease power crisis.

God willing the barge will arrive in Ghana. There’s no truth about the fuel shortage, all arrangements have been done already. Government is also ready to fuel it when the power barge arrives in Ghana. We should not give such false publication much attention,” he told host Kwasi Aboagye.
