The Northern Regional Director of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) formerly Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA), Alhaji Mohammed Aminu Adam, has been dismissed, documents sighted by ultimate1069.com have confirmed.

His interdiction, which took effect from Thursday, October 29, 2015, is related to financial malfeasance to the tune of ¢9.6 billion.

Deep-throat sources reveal that in June this year, there were plans to expand the modules of YEA to include agriculture by the then Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kobby Acheampong, but that was never effected.

Alhaji Adam however, started implementing the project in the Northern Region and reportedly entered into a contractual agreement with Wumpini Agro Chemicals – a Tamale-based company – to supply some agricultural inputs totaling the said amount.

Management, which later got wind of the alleged underhand dealings, accused him of failing to act in accordance with procurement processes and as well exceeded the GH¢200,000 mandated spending ceiling for national officers.

An investigative committee was therefore commissioned to look into it and recommended the interdiction of the embattled Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

A document signed by Acting CEO of YEA, Vincent Kuagbenu, directed one Alhassan Umar to act in his place until a substantive regional director was appointed.

The letter read: “You are by this letter directed to act in your position as Northern Regional Director of Youth Employment Agency with effect from Thursday, October 29, 2015.

“Mr. Adam has been directed to hand over the office together with other Agency’s property in his custody to you.”

Vincent Kuagbenu, when reached for his comments, confirmed the dismissal but said it was not for media discussion.

“If my regional director is interdicted, is that supposed to be news for broadcast?” he asked and refused to comment further, according to our source.
