NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has strongly condemned recent terrorist attacks in Paris which left about 127 people dead.
The NPP’s flagbearer in statement described the attacks as “Insane and cowardly.” – adding that, he received the news with “shock and sadness”
“I received news of the terrorist attacks in Paris, which have left at least 127 people dead so far and several hundreds injured, with utter shock and sadness. I join the rest of the world in sympathising with the families of the dead and the injured.” He said
At least 127 people have been killed in a series of coordinated terror attacks in the heart of Paris which have paralysed the French capital.
Up to 100 were massacred in the Bataclan concert hall after suicide bombers took hostage then blew themselves up - Chilling footage shows concert-goers dragging blood-soaked friends from scene and woman hanging from window.
Reports says the terrorists shouted 'Allah Akbar' and 'this is for Syria' as they burst in and opened fire.
Another 11 people were gunned down at a Cambodian restaurant by militant brandishing an AK-47 machine gun - two suicide bombers targeted the Stade de France stadium where President Francois Hollande was watching game.
The French President has declared a state of emergency for the whole country and reinstates border checks - He has vowed to 'mercilessly' strike back after blaming ISIS and has declared three days of national mourning.
However, Nana Addo has noted that no religion or ideology justifies the killing of innocent people and that the world must stand up together against all the atrocities that go on around the world in a twisted understanding of religion or ideology.
“I wish to condemn, unreservedly, these insane and cowardly acts. No religion or ideology justifies the killing of innocent people, and the world must stand up together against all the atrocities that go on around the world in a twisted understanding of religion or ideology.” He said
Adding that – ““President François Hollande and the French people need to be assured with deeds, not just words, that the world stands with France and stands ready to support them in the necessary fight against such evil.”
