The head office of the Ghana Highway Authority near the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Accra is on fire.
An eyewitness who spoke to NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie said the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
The fire which is said to have started early hours of Monday at the 4th (last) floor of the building, but the timely intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading further.
No casualties have been record as the fire started at a time workers were yet to arrive at their offices.
It is however feared that documents of various road construction contracts stored at the head office are likely to be consumed by the inferno.
The Ghana Fire Service is yet to tell the actual cause of the fire.
