Residents of North Eastern Part of Accra are without water and the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) blames the situation on power cut.
Affected communities include: Dodowa, Frafraha, Adenta, Ogbojo, Madina, Ashaley Botwe, Adjirigano, East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, and other surrounding communities.
Head of Public Relations and Communications, Stanley Martey, explained that
GWCL was unable to supply water from the Dodowa Booster Station which serves the North Eastern Part of Accra.
According to him, power supply has been curtailed to the Dodowa Booster Station of GWCL, following a destruction of some electrical pylons that feed the Booster Station with power.
He appealed to the general public as well as institutions or organisations within the affected areas to bear with the situation while engineers work around the clock to rectify the situation.
He assured the general public that GWCL engineers are working together with Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) engineers to rectify the situation.
He apologised for the inconvenience caused to the consuming public.
