Police personnel of the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) have invited a staunch supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Agbormor, who is a close friend and supporter of Mr. Ablakwa, Deputy Minister for Tertiary Education for interrogations, police sources have said.
The invitation was as result of a death threat Mr. Agbormor issued on the life of an independent parliamentary candidate for North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region, Mr. Christopher Kofi Eleblu.
The police officers at CID headquarters in charge of the case told this paper that Mr. Agbormor was to explain why he had threaten to kill Mr. Eleblu without any provocation.
According to them, Mr. Eleblu has petitioned the Director of Operations of the Ghana Police Service to commission a full scale investigation into circumstances surrounding the move by Mr. Agbomor to end his life by hook or by crook.
In a one-page petition dated October 7, 2016, copy of which was chanced upon by this paper revealed that "On September 27, 2016, my nephew Evans Eleblu who stays at Gbebeyese, a suburb of Dansoman in Accra informed me that a person (name withheld) revealed to him a death threat statement made by a man named Agbormor”.
The petition went on to state that "the lady alleged that Agbormor said that they will kill Mr. Eleblu before the December 7 polls since he, Eleblu is certain to defeat National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) in the North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa."
It pointed out that "Mr. Agbormor is a close associate, strong supporter and private security personnel to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa."
The petition asserted that "I pray that your outfit will unearth the truth of the matter and deal with the support accordingly."
Mr. Agbormor, who is a private security guard of Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, is reportedly on record to have told some people at a certain Restaurant near Challenge Bookshop at Kokomlemle in Accra that "we are planning to end the life of Mr. Eleblu before the December 7, 2016 showdown."
Meanwhile, Mr. Agbormor when contacted by this this stated “Master I told you that I am not feeling well so when I go and appear before the police I would call you and brief you what had happened.”
