The Agona Swedru District Police Command has arrested an 18-year old unemployed for allegedly murdering a 29-year old mason, Mr. Isaac Arhin.
The District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Paul Wesley Baah, made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Agona Swedru.
He said the swuspect has been placed in police custody awaiting the autopsy report of the deceased from the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
DSP Baah said on December 28, 2016, at about 7pm, a quarrel ensued between the suspect and the deceased at Botwe Estate, a suburb of Agona Swedru and the two were engaged in a struggle.
He said during the struggle both of them allegedly fell down in the process and they were separated.
The Agona Swedru District Police Commander said on December 29, 2016, the deceased complained of severe pains on his neck and other parts of the body and was sent to the Agona Swedru Municipal Government Hospital for treatment.
According to DSP Baah, the deceased health started deteriorating and he was referred to the 37 Military Hospital, where he died on Decmber 30, 2016, while was on admission.
He stated that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital morgue for autopsy.
DSP Baah said the receipt of the post-mortem report on the deceased would determine which charge should be preferred against the suspect.
