President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, today hosted the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson at the Presidency.
Discussions aimed at boosting the already strong bilateral relations that exist between Ghana and the United Kingdom, were touched on by the two leaders.
During the meeting, the UK Foreign Secretary revealed that the UK is seeking stronger ties with Ghana to enable firms invest in various sectors of the country.
“We hope to have an even deeper friendship going forward and particularly we want to make sure that British firms come here in greater numbers and in greater strengths to invest in Ghana and, if I may say so, take advantage of the fantastic opportunities there are in this country,” Mr Boris said.
He emphasized that the UK holds a common interest with Ghana in terms of foreign policy and security as well as ensuring “stability of the region, which affects us in Europe as much as anybody else”.
