President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would officially inaugurate the US$95 million Kumasi City Mall (KCM), built to provide a modern shopping centre for people in the nation’s second largest city, today.
This would be done jointly with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Mr. John Bedu-Bonsu, Marketing Manager of the Mall, broke the news to journalists in Kumasi on Tuesday.
The one-stop, world class shopping centre, which sits on a 6.23 hectares of land, caters for the needs of people of different income groups.
In all, it has 74 different shops and these deal in various kinds of shopping items - foodstuff and grocery, lifestyle, beauty and wellness, electronics and telecommunications, budget and designer fashion and clothing.
Added to these are pharmaceuticals and clinic facilities, gifts and high value jewelry, restaurants, banking and financial services, entertainment, children’s games and recreation.
The facility is the third of its kind developed by Delico Property Investments Limited, owners of the West Hills Mall and Achimota retail Centre, both in Accra.
It opened for businesses 20 days ago amid the outpour of excitement by the people in the city.
Mr. Bedu-Bonsu said the shops would be opened during the inaugural ceremony.
