Ghana must move to an era of good governance as a bedrock for businesses to thrive, Senior Minister Osafo-Marfo has said.
Mr Maafo said these when he delivered a speech on behalf of the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, at the CEOs’ Summit in Accra on Monday, May 22.
With an emphasis on proper administrative structures, Mr Maafo said: “Businesses must not succeed because we have connections to high places, because we have connections to custom officials, because we have connections to all sorts of places. Businesses must succeed because we have good governance prevailing in our country.”
He emphasised that business must thrive with a “level playing field for all”.
For him, Ghana’s economy will develop and “we will be moving in the right direction when business flourishes along these lines”.
“We should not put emphasis on connections to succeed, because when the connections are no more there what happens? Then you are likely to falter and fail,” he queried.
He said the connections come only as an addition when one is able to be productive and efficient by hard work.

Really.... what are we hearing.. when party people are being placed into organisations like BOST and Ghana Gas to work just because they were able to attend rallies and not because of their competence. When party faithfuls because of their CONNECTIONS have job appointments allocations they are asking around for people to buy. Please Mr Senior Minister you will need to come again. Maybe you do not know what the Energy Minister and his team are doing on the ground
