Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper Malik Kweku Baako has advised Exton Cubic Group Limited to go to court over its license revocation by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

Owners of Engineers and Planners were subcontracted by Exton Cubic Group to prospect for bauxite at Nyinanhini in the Ashanti Region. Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President john Dramani Mahama owns E&P.

But equipment belonging to E&P were impounded by the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah arguing that he was not briefed about the company’s operations which falls under his jurisdiction.

The license of Exton Group was later revoked by the Ministry describing its mining lease as ‘invalid.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Thursday September 14, 2017, Mr Baako described as ‘untidy’ the seizure of the equipment which led to the revocation.

According to him, the group was treated unfairly by the government.

He likened the Exton Cubic case to the persecution of the EO Group and other indigenous Ghanaian companies which have suffered the same fate.

He believes the court could determine the outcome of the revocation if diplomacy intervention fails.

‘…Yes it was untidy, I have to be very frank with you, everything the sequence of events, the Ministers, Ashanti regional Minister, substantive Minister, over the seizure of the equipment, all those things were completely untidy. And at the end of the day there is cancellation of license.

‘I think that also lack some honesty, that’s my feeling. And then I think that the Exton Cubic Group Limited people should just proceed to court, that’s my feeling. I would have wished I don’t talk so much about some of these things because sometimes I look at quite diplomacy could resolve some of these things, if it doesn’t you go to court to determine the outcome,’ he said.
