The deceased was traveling in a sprinter bus with a colleague, when the robbers opened fire on them.
The other policeman and four other passengers onboard the bus sustained injuries, following the attack.
So far, the Ashanti Regional Police Command, led by DCOP Akwasi Duku, says it has made some inroads towards arresting the culprits. Reports say the AK47 assault rifle, plus other guns and ammunition that the robbers used in the attack has, been retrieved.
DCOP Duku noted that the police, acting upon a tip-off, have identified and raided the den of the robbers.
He assured that the police would do everything possible to nab the suspects involved in the crime.
