One person died Monday morning following an industrial accident at Century Industry Limited, one of the subsidiaries of the Melcom Group of Companies at the industrial area in Accra.
Abdul Nadir Adam, 19, who was among a group of five workers was killed by an iron beam which accidentally fell on him.
Graphic Online's Kukua Nketia Asiedu who visited the accident scene was told that on Monday morning, about five workers were guiding an iron beam on a crane.
The beam was said to have slipped from the rail and out of fear that it was going to fall, four of them took to their heels and left Abdul Nadir Adam behind.
Adam was hit by the iron beam and was rushed to the Cocoa Clinic where he reportedly passed on.
His colleagues explained Adam was engaged by Century through SDP Solution Agency as a contract worker and that his family has since been notified about the accident.
