The one-time Member of Council of State during the administration of former President J. J. Rawlings and also served as the President of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, and currently the Paramount Chief of Prang Traditional Area, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, has added a strong voice to support the creation of the new regions.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE in an exclusive interview after this year’s Nkyifie Yam Festival, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III said with time the people of the proposed Bono East Region would have their fair share of the national cake. He asserted that the steps being taken by the current government are good policies to move the country forward and must therefore be supported by all, especially the people of Bono East.  He said the creation of Bono East Region would bring development to the doorsteps of the people of Bono East and the country as a whole.

The chief seized the opportunity to appeal to all those who dwell within his jurisdiction and Bono East catchment areas,  who are registered voters, to come out in their numbers on 27th December, 2018, to vote YES massively for the new region.

According to Nana Nyarkoh, a YES vote is for development, not about partisan politics. He pointed out that since the day of voting is getting nearer by the day, his sub chiefs must meet and sensitize the people to the date. He said the Traditional Council would meet again to discuss ways and means to ensure 100% YES votes.

On her part, Nana Akua Tipa II, queen mother of the area, could not hide her tears of joy to see the creation of Bono East Region become reality. She said travelling all the way from Pru East and West, Sene East and West and Atebubu to Sunyani to transact business would be a thing of the past and it would save them time, energy and cost. The queen mother admonished  all and sundry in the area to postpone other activities that day and come out in their numbers to vote YES for the Bono East Region.

She stated that some of the benefits of the creation of the new region are job creation especially for the youth. Nana Tipa II was of the view that   the Akufo-Addo government is building a solid foundation for the youth of the country and this will help future generations.
