The National Union of Ghana Students applauds Prof. Stephen Adei on his appointment as Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).
NUGS as a corporate partner of youth development would like the revered Professor to ensure that the Commission actively involves the youth especially students in drawing its policies, especially those centred around education and capacity building of the youth.
In order to guarantee that the Commission fulfills all policies and plans, NUGS implores Prof. Stephen Adei to set up an implementation division as well as a monitoring unit.
NUGS encourages the NDPC to formulate short and long term national development plans that would be binding on all successive governments. NUGS believes this would enhance development and curb agenda based partisan development plans and policies.
NUGS believes that Prof. Adei together with the NDPC must involve students representatives and leaders in the global Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union's Agenda 2063 in order to ensure the general participation of students and youth for the general success of the Commission and the success of Ghana as a whole.
Thank You.
Signed
