The Adisadel Old Boys Association has registered its displeasure over the circumstance under which the headmaster of the school, William Kusi-Yeboah, was interdicted for “acts of violation into procedures of the Ghana Education Service (GES)”.
At a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday January 8, 2018, the president of the association, Kojo Yankah, indicated that the association does not question the authority of the GES to discipline its members.
It however raised questions over the manner in which the headmaster was interdicted on the blind side of the governing council of the school.
“We were only informed during the weekend that the headmaster has been informed he was going to be dismissed. Later the dismissal turned out to be interdiction when the board did not know about it.
“This is not the first time the headmaster has been threatened with dismissal. As we speak, there are no records of the headmaster having being queried. There are no records of the headmaster’s conduct or behaviour to the board of governors,” he said.
The governing board is made up of a representation from the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), Old Boys Association, Municipal Director of Education, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and headmaster, among others.
He however pledged the association’s cooperation to help the GES conduct its investigation in order to finally lay the matter to rest.
Mr Yankah described the association as an interest group that contributes extensively to the administration of the school and for that matter should be pivotal in decision-making of the school.
“Old boys are building dormitories, defence walls and bungalows. Old boys with PTA are renovating houses, improving sanitation and sponsoring speech days. I cannot see why old boys should be considered as third party in the school,” he added.
In the said circular that announced the headmaster’s interdiction, the Central Regional Director of Education was to assume temporary responsibility for the management of the school with effect from Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
It also added: “Management takes this opportunity to caution all heads of SHSs that all acts of illegal collection of fees in all public schools, as well as all violations of the guidelines for the operation of the free SHS programme, will not be countenanced,” it concluded.
It was copied to the sector minister and his deputies, the chairmen of the GES council and the board of governors of the school, the General Manager of the Catholic Education Unit and other directors.

I believe some of these "Old Boys" are lawyers and legal professionals why are they not in court, or why is the Headmaster not in court if he feels he is not treated fairly? We all must be law abiding and stop that stealing in the name of I am about to go on pension.
Mr Lion check your grammar before you come on this platform with your gibberish. Didn't you attend primary school? To the old boys association ;there are rules and regulations governing every action on this planet. If one flouts those regulations there are consequences. Are you guys saying that the GES should consult you before taking action against headmasters who break the rules? The fact that you are building classrooms and constructing fences does not mean that you ought to be consulted before action is taken against erring headmasters. Who pays the salaries of headmasters?
Advanced countries that eats from plastics? They are not as advanced as some of you think. Now back to nsem papa! If Nana is also taking bribbs why Are others being punished for doing the same? Nana Addo is taking a huge bribb through the ExxonMobil oil deal. Ghanaians the fuuulllllls are getting 15 percent, ExxonMobil the wise business men are getting 80 percent, where is the 5 percent going? It is definitely going into Akufu Addos pocket. Akufu is a tiif just like the head master. The only deference is the stopidity behind Akufu Addo letting ExxonMobil take 80 percent whilst you are always going after the poor Ghanaian for taxes.
The immediate past headmaster of Mfantsipim School was removed from his position after due deligence investigation was carried out by the GES on similar grounds. The School and the Old Boys took it in good faith and the school is moving on. BE SUBMISSIVE TO AUTHORITY
Undisciplined old boys who surprisingly many of them are intellectuals and leading figures of this country. If the headmaster has indeed broken the rules of teh GES why don't you allow him to face the consequences he deserves rather than encouraging him with your worthless actions. What will other headmasters of lesser known schools do? Ghana never ceases to amaze me. You won't get this b-u11 $-h--1-+ in an advanced country.
