The Criminal Investigation Department [CID] of the Police Service says they will continue to pursue allegations leveled against the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] after the embattled Chairman failed to appear before them following an invitation.
The PRO of the department, Deputy Superintendent of Police [DSP] Ms Juliana Obeng told NEAT FM’s evening political show 'Torch Light' that her superiors will use all legal means available to handle Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo’s issue.
According to the CID, suspects connected with the various kidnappings and fires are pointing fingers at Mr. Oofsu-Ampofo, hence the invitation to him to appear on Thursday, May 9, 2019 to assist with investigations.
But, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has declined the invitation, insisting the position of the CID is just to “shift the blame over the increasing inability of the security agencies” to ensure safety of citizens.
Through his legal team, the NDC Chairman noted that – “Your invitation, its tone and insinuations, is simply an attempt to 'pass the buck', and shift the blame over the increasing inability of the security agencies, including your outfit, to manage and control the failures of security and the governance structures of the country as a whole. Looking for scape-goats would not improve the situation.”
DSP Ms Juliana Obeng told host Mac-Jerry Osei Agyeman that – the CID will not hesitate to seek a warrant for Ofosu- Ampofo’s arrest if he again decline their invitation.
“It’s possible we can use that to arrest him but I can’t confirm now. It’s part of many other legal options to use,” she said.

I am just waiting for the day NPP will start persecuting and exposing their members who go wrong just like NDC was doing. The corruption is too much..
You sound like Kohw3 and Opia concert party.
I feel so sad when these politicians take the laws of Ghana into their own hands to destroy our own land, its unfortunate to see an ordinary Ghanaian supporting these selfish and greedy bastards. Listen to what an elder of a church said some months ago Ofosu Ampofo of ndc, planning to destroy this country with his selfish ambitions and innocent Ghanaian who will find it very difficult to escape such violence seriously supporting him. may the good Lord saves us from the hands of these wicked ndc people. Lets allow the laws to work and jail him for years with hard labour so it serves as threat to all evil minded people in the country irrespective of their political affiliations.
Akora Boga, when the table turns in the presidency when? you see how you in the ndc are f000*00ls? you were beating mercilessly in power and you talking if ehdn the table turns who is cra*zy thst will vote ndc? you think your cra*zy diehards who are carrying stones can bring your party back? what are you pointing at to show you did marvelously good work for Ghanaians to consider you? understand majority of Ghanaians are not ndc and your party coming to power in 2009-2016 with very flimsy margin 2009 was just 40,000 a constituency votes, then 2012 was about 300,000 which was marred with controversy and the court verdict was 5-4 clear indication ndc lost but rigged, then in 2016 ndc lost potooo with over 1 million votes because Ghanaians were very vigilant and will be till the end, we will never allow anyone to short change our destiny to come and mess up and get rich at the expense of Ghanaians! let your ndc brains work a little bit and know not everyone is like your footsoldiers and diehards who will vote whatever even people still vote PNC so nothing g wrong with those diehards following john mahama wherever he goes but they can never bring him to power ! let them carry their stones on their miserable heads they will continue to carry stones till thy kingdom come ! if those ndc nonentities don't want to change their lives nobody can do that for them, laziness leads to poverty so they should work hard and keep their environments clean for cleanliness is Godliness!
You continue to denigrate yourself and the Police profession to please your masters.have conscience, work according to rules and tomorrow you will not be looking back to see if someone is after you when the table of the presidency turns
My advise to the police is to use the law courts to deal with these use'Less politicians in this country. What Ofosu Ampofo did must be condemned and allow the court to deal with him. The politicians on both sides and the other ones are fuuuuuuuuuuling too much. All they think morning till they go to bed is POWER,POWER & USE'LESS POWER which is Minimum 4yrs and Maximum 8yrs.
This is what happens when women are put in sensitive positions.. They are easily manipulated by men
SO, THIS IS THE TYPE OF GOVERNANCE AND POLICING WE ARE NOW WITNESSING IN GHANA. I WANT THE POLICE TO NOW TELL ME THOSE WHO WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NUMEROUS FIRE OUTBREAKS IN THE COUNTRY DURING THE NDC ERA. GOD IS WATCHING.
Tiwa or whatever you call yourself…you are a d is grace to womanhood…..you need to invite yourself first before inviting Ofosu Ampofu….where are the girls you promised their parents that they are safe and will unite with their families soon??? I think you have a lot to explain to Ghanaians than inviting somebody who can’t even hurt a fly. I regret supporting NPP and I feel sad for wasting my energy and resources for this tyrant party.
Your case is weak. Who ever prepared the charges have dug a deep hole that the prosecutors cannot climb out of. That is why you want to whip sentiments against Osfosu Ampofo. It was just a lazy job or political vendetta. Even if pressure is placed on this judge to pronounce judgement against him, it will be overturned on appeal. The only thing is the inconvenience they want Ampofo to go through.
