General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, Rev Dr. Frimpong Manso, has described the planned Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Guidelines to be introduced in public schools by the Ghana Education Service as "satanic".
Labeling the guidelines as rather "Comprehensive Satanic Engagement", the renowned man of God vowed to resist the roll-out of the guidelines with all his strength and power.
Score of individuls and civil society organisations have strongly raised opposition to the introduction of the new educational guidelines on sex for basic schools.
Beginning next year, pupils in all public schools, including 4-year-olds will be given Comprehensive Sexuality Education.
Officials say the subject content would, however, be age-appropriate, so the toddlers would be empowered with values that would protect them from sexual harassment.
But critics say it is part of an active strategy by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) movement to get acceptance - especially in Africa, where resistance has been most strong.
But the Ministry of Education and its partners deny these accusations.
Speaking on Okay Fm's Ade Akye Abia programme, Rev Dr. Frimpong Manso pointed out that the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council is "totally opposed" to these new education guidelines and its members will walk their children out of the classroom during such periods.
He explained that taking these kids through such education at this young age will lead to the degradation of the country's moral fibre and religion.
"Teaching our children about sex education is not a bad idea but going into details and introducing other aspects will pollute the moral education we are giving them as children.
"The Charismatic and Christian Council will meet the leadership of Parliament to discuss the syllabus which we hear has already been introduced in our schools. We expect the government to act swiftly and do something about it before they suffer the consequences thereof.
"We the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council are totally opposed to it, none of our teachers will teach that, we will walk our children out and any government who will promote it, it will be a tool for them to walk out...already corruption is destroying our country, we are battling with finding medical solutions to several health issues and we must seek ways of resolving them and not how to teach kids to be gays and lesbians which is contrary to the scriptures..." he stated.

Whether he reads or doesn't read we don't want to even smell it let alone have in educational system. What you guys have seen and heard is just 2% resistance. We shall smoke you people out of Ghana....NANSSENSE!
Who gave this man Dr? Is he not one of the fake title holders? He doesn't read... It is sad that such people are consulted or interviewed on public policies. Ghana is indeed troubled.
You hit the nail right on the head. Ghanaians do not read. Though I belong to the Rev.'s flock, I think that if he had requested for the guidelines and read them, he would have spoken the way he spoke. there is absolutely nothing satanic about the guidelines. We Ghanaians are opposed to Gay and Lesbianism and it will always remain so and no country can pass this through the back door to us, I tell you our teachers are not dumb, they will reject it outright. But as far as am concerned CSE is country specific, age appropriate and not evil intended. It rather empowers the child especially the girl child. We can advocate for changes but certainly it is not satanic. Let's read.
Those of you lambasting the man of GOD I stand to differ, when a child goes out to learn something negative, and comes back home or to school he is been corrected or a healthy and further explanation is given for them to understand themselves, but if where they can seek answers and refuge is been tinted then what future do we have for these kid, those making noise, how will feel when your 3 or 4yr kid come home with such big stuff from his mouth, please lets think and careful. don't leave to regret this day
i am just being curious oo so how much did nana and npp take from the G8 before accepting to implement this to 4 year olds? ewiase ha obi nkyere akoda Nyame wai
whats you just posted has no sen.se at all
Read ooo read Ghanaians!!Rev Dr,(I hope that's a real PhD), from your uncontrolled outbursts, I realise you have not even read the actual GES guidelines but you're basing your conclusions on what you have seen on social media. If you as the head of your flock can not do critical reading and analysis of issues then I shudder to think what your illiterate and semi literate congregants will do or say. What kind of reasoned advice do you give them. Religious bigotry has never solved any problems anywhere, anytime.
When you go borrowing ,not only are you charged interest ,you are also told how to live your life . Our politicains should please think . There is money here in Ghana , our current state as a country demand drastic measures . Cut down size and benefits of politicial appointees . Cut down number of mps , stretch the use of government resources eg vehicles to get the maximum out of them . Purchase small engine size , durable vehicles . Use electricity ,water wisely in government facilities . If we want to live big because we are in government , the next generation will come and continue the suffering .
What is wrong with these ministers ? build schools improve school intake and end this shift system . what benefit will this introduction bring to the kids , leave that aspect to there parents , I entreat every well meaning Ghanian to rise up against this.
Granted the information is true, I expect our religious bodies to make suggestions to make the whole exercise useful and educative to our children.
