Ghana's coronavirus cases have risen astronomically to 52, according to Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu.
He made this disturbing disclosure at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to him, 25 new cases are imported from the 1,030 people who are under mandatory self-quarantine in some hotels in Accra.
"Out of the 185 test results received, we have 25 of those quarantined tested positive. If you add on to the earlier number of 27, it means we have 52 tested positive in our country at the moment. Those in quarantine, we have actually deployed psychologists to have chats with them. We are also in the process of handing them over to our case management teams we have set up. We have started taking them to isolated centers for case management," the Health Minister said.
Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo announced in an address to the nation on Saturday that all borders – air, land and sea – will be closed to human traffic from Sunday midnight in a bid to contain the Covid-19 disease.
“This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo,” he said in the address.
He warned that anybody who arrives in the country within the next two weeks will undergo “mandatory quarantine” and tested for the coronavirus.
In a related development, Immigration officials say 21 persons have been arrested at the Elubo border for attempting to enter Ghana illegally.

Why should mobile money merchants still be working at this erra of civid-19
The number of people infected are more fa more than what they're telling us. Almost a million people have been infected but the sun and the heat is keeping them alive.
@fosa, You seem to lose focus on what is happening in the world. Do you think that partizan way of politics would gain your advantage. Do you know where you would be in the next two months when this disease gets out of hand? Even developed countries are finding it tough to deal with it, instead of leaving as one people to fight this Covid-19 you are here casting unnecessary insinuations just satisfy your selfish parochial interest. Wait till you get the symptoms then you would see the seriousness of the situation.
we need to be training nurses who were looking for jobs to be on stand by. we again need to utilise schools as hospitals and we need to do this things very quickly. let us ignore the ***barred word*** political noises any where in the country. we need ideas, solutions and financial contribution.
@FOSA AND MARTIN WHAT HAS THE PRESIDENT DONE HERE, THE 25 NEW CASES ARE AS A RESULT OF THE QUARANTINE PROCEDURE PUT IN PLACE. THOSE PERSONS WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE COMMUNITIES BUT INSTEAD THEY ARE ISOLATED WHICH MAKES THE SPREADING CONTAINED. MIGHTY ITALY, SPAIN, USA, UK, GERMANY AND FRANCIS ARE ALL STRUGGLING. AT THIS STAGE WE DONT NEED EMPTY MINDS TO TALK.
